i tried the 2:2.5.0 xserver-xorg-video-intel driver but nothing new - same white screen slowly fading Here is mine (was, tried a few other stuff which did nothing new): (from terminal: gksudo gedit /etc/X11/nf) Just edit the /etc/X11/nf file correspondingly. You can get a higher resolution with the vesa driver.
